Kazakhstani diplomats in Afghanistan are being guarded by the border guards

Almaty. April 20. Silkroadnews – The Kazakhstani diplomats in Afghanistan are being guarded by the border guards, the ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Omirtay Bitimov says, KazTAG reports.

“The terrorist threats are taken into account; Afghanistan is the only country where we use the armed security by our border guards. The perimeter protection is provided by the police (of Afghanistan – Silkroadnews), we also cooperate with the country’s security agencies,” O. Bitimov said at the briefing in Astana on Wednesday.
According to him, Kazakhstan’s policy of peace is the primary duty-bearer for the security.  

“One shall realize if terrorists single out an object, they can do that not only in Afghanistan but in other countries as well. It is hard, yet we have to do our job. Time is tough not only in Afghanistan,” the ambassador said.

According to Kazakhstan’s ministry of foreign affairs, the situation in Afghanistan remains tense against the background of the armed opposition revitalization – “Taliban” movement has been split into several groups fighting against each other. IS groups also get activated in the country.
