Kazakhtani-Iranian joint venture on logistics infrastructure to start operation this March

Almaty. February 7. Silkroadnews – During his visit to Iran head of JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”” (KTZ) Kanat Alpysbaev approved documentation to establish a joint venture (JV) between JSC “KTZ Express” and “Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines” company, press service of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy reports.

Representatives of the national company reminded, memorandum to establish a joint venture between the Kazakhstani and Iranian companies was signed on December 22, 2016, during the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to Kazakhstan.

“A joint venture is scheduled to start operation in March 2017. At the initial stage its operational activities will be related to the provision of transport and logistics services ... Realization of the project of construction of a joint terminal in the port of Bandar Abbas is planned for the fourth quarter of this year”, the statement released on Tuesday says.

The parties also plan to implement projects for the development of terminal facilities at Inceburun station and in the port of Aktau.
