Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani trade turnover does not correspond to the economic potential of the two countries

Bishkek. September 11. Silkroadnews - «On September 10 in Baku, was held II-nd session of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation. The sides noted that the current level of trade does not match the real economic potential of the two countries",- said the press service of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, reports KyrTAG.
Also at the meeting discussed the state and prospects of trade and economic cooperation, as well as the possibilities of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, tourism, transport and communications, the expansion of the legal framework. The parties have agreed that they will make all necessary efforts to expand economic cooperation between business entities and entrepreneurs of the two countries.
It was agreed to hold a joint business forum until the end of 2014. Following the meeting was signed a protocol of II-nd meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani commission.
According to the information, the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission will be held in 2015 in Bishkek.
By the end of 2013 the trade turnover between two countries amounted to $14.5 million, supplies from Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $12.7 million, and from Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan - $1.8 million.
