Kyrgyz border guards continue heavy security serving at the disputed site of the border with Uzbekistan

Almaty. August 24. Silkroadnews – The situation at the disputed site of Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border Ungar-Too remains unchanged, the site is operating under heavy security regime, KyrTAG informs.

«Kyrgyz Border division on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border continue to serve under heavy security regime. At present the additional number of Kyrgyzstan's State Border Service (SBS) militaries have been pulled to Ungar-Too area», said the report by press-service of Kyrgyzstan SBS.
The sides representatives continue negotiations. According to the Uzbek side, four Kyrgyz citizens, employees of radio relay stations, are being detained in the Yangikurgan Regional Department of Internal Affairs, Uzbekistan, for the procedural measures. At the same time representatives of the Uzbek border side say there are no reasons to raise concern for the detained Kyrgyz citizens.

Joint actions by the border agency personnel and interacting structures at the site are being coordinated by the chief of staff, first deputy chairman of the Kyrgyz Republic SBS Bakyt Zhyltyrov.

The overall situation on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border is stable, SBS press service informs.
