Bishkek. March 26. Silkroadnews –Kyrgyz government is not opposed to the idea of micro-enclaves exchange with Tajikistan, as the acting Deputy PM, Tokon Mamytov says.
“We are to exchange selected settlements with Tajikistan. In particular, we are talking about our micro-enclaves that happened to be located on the Tajik territory. They are not big, we are not talking 1000s of people, we are talking 6-7 families. There can never be a discussion about exchanging big settlements with 1000s of people”, Mister Mamytov says.
He draws attention to the fact that the exchange was initiated by the residents themselves.
“The residents have come up with the initiative and the government is not opposed to it. However, we need to handle the process legitimately, we need to apply international law and state legislation to the situation”, Mamytov highlights.
