Kyrgyz market may not sustain competition in the structure of the EAEC, experts say

Silkroadnews - Kyrgyz market burdened with a heavy taxes compared to the markets of neighboring countries, so it may become uncompetitive in the system integration, reports KyrTAG with reference to the president of the Association of Markets, Trade and Service of Kyrgyzstan Sergei Ponomarev.
According to him, if earlier Kyrgyz market had been working for the country with a population of 5 million and general salary was around $200, with the entry of the country's to the EAEC, it faces multi-million dollar market, that lives in fierce competition.
According S.Ponomarev, for example, if the VAT tax in Kyrgyzstan is 16%, in Kazakhstan it is 12%.
"Our market remains uncompetitive by 5%", - he explained.
According to the expert, to support entrepreneurs the government should remove the tax burden to employers and improve the administration.
"Also an important role plays political stability, if there is not stability, the business can go away, for example, to the neighboring Kazakhstan, as happened in 2010", - he added.
