Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan emphasized the development of trade and economic relations

Almaty. December 15. Silkroadnews - Prime Minister Djoomart Otorbaev and head of the government of Afghanistan, Abdullah Abdullah discussed the issues of cooperation, reports KyrTAG.
"On December 14 in the meeting of Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Djoomart Otorbaev met with Prime Minister Abdullah Abdullah of Afghanistan", - says the publication.
D. Otorbaev confirmed the readiness of Kyrgyzstan in promoting inter-Afghan reconciliation for the sake of peace and security in Afghanistan and the region as a whole. He noted the constructive cooperation of Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan in the framework of international and regional organizations, the similarity of the two countries and the provision of mutual support on major international issues.
The sides also discussed issues of cooperation. Particularly highlighted the need to improve the development of trade and economic ties. In this regard, D.Otorbaev stressed that the KR in the future, has great opportunities to develop together with Afghanistan multidisciplinary projects in various fields: agriculture, trade and the opening of joint industrial ventures. In the water and energy sector - a unique joint project is the CASA-1000, and in the development of regional infrastructure - the construction of the Trans-Asian communication paths connecting Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
It is noted that the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan expressed readiness to expand cooperation in the field of education through the training of Afghan youth in high schools of the Kyrgyz Republic in different specialties within available means.
Particular attention was paid to the problems of ethnic Kyrgyz in Afghanistan, including to improve their standard of living, access to social services and preservation of the ethnic group and its culture.
In turn, Prime Minister Abdullah Abdullah invited Kyrgyz goverment to visit Afghanistan. Abdullah Abdullah also said the existing positive experience in training Afghan specialists in universities of Kyrgyzstan. In addition, he expressed readiness of the Afghan government continue to foster ethnic Kyrgyz Afghanistan.
