Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan signed a memorandum on cross-border cooperation
Almaty. October 3. Silkroadnews – Memorandum on cross-border cooperation has been signed between border areas of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, KyrTAG writes.
«Following the visit of the Kyrgyz delegation headed by First Vice Prime Minister Muhammetkaly Abulgaziev in Andijan (Uzbekistan) three regions of the two countries signed memorandum on mutual cooperation. In particular, the memorandum was signed by the heads of the Osh, Batken, Jalal-Abad regions of Kyrgyzstan and Andijan, Fergana and Namangan regions of Uzbekistan», the statement said.
The heads of the regions have agreed to hold regular monthly meetings to discuss current, pressing issues the border regions' residents face. To facilitate further development of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation it is also planned to hold a return visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan.
