Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan signed protocol on disputed areas of the border line

Almaty. October 17. Silkroadnews – Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan signed protocol on disputed areas along the state border, KyrTAG writes.

“According to the approved schedule the meetings of the working groups of the governmental delegations of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan were held in Andijan and Ferghana on October 5-14, 2016, on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border delimitation and demarcation”, the statement said.

It is noted that the meetings also provided for the joint field survey of 55 sites within the boundary lines of Namangan, Andijan and Ferghana regions of Uzbekistan neighboring to Jalal-Abad, Osh and Batken oblasts of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The negotiations resulted in signing the due protocol.  

The meetings have been marked as carried out in a friendly atmosphere, in the spirit of the recent Uzbek-Kyrgyz contacts at various levels.
