Kyrgyzstan delivered to Uzbekistan the Uzbek police officer arrested earlier

Almaty. August 23. Silkroadnews – The border authorities of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan discussed the situation around the border conflict, press service of the State Border Service (SBS) of the Kyrgyz Republic reported, KyrTAG wrote.

As noted, on August 22 the issue was discussed by chairman of the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan Abdikarim Alimbaev and Deputy Chairman of the National Security Service, the commander of the border troops of the National Security Service of Uzbekistan, Rustam Eminzhanov in telephone conversation.

The sides expressed their willingness to resolve the situation.

According to decision by the Ala-Bukinsky district court of Jalal-Abad region, A.Tozhibaev, the guard service department officer at the Department of Internal Affairs of Kasansay region of Uzbekistan, arrested on August 13, has been fined and released to be delivered to the Uzbek side.

At 09.30 p.m. on August 22 the above-mentioned officer was delivered to the Uzbek side in locality of Baymak, Ala-Bukinsky district of Jalal-Abad region, in presence of representatives of the territorial bodies of Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and National Security Service Department of Uzbekistan.

“At the moment the officials of Interior Ministry of Uzbekistan remain staying in disputed area of Ungar-Too. The Uzbek side continues to lay claim to remove police checkpoints around Ortho-Tokoy reservoir”, press service of the State Border Service (SBS) of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

To remind, 7 officers of Interior Ministry of Uzbekistan landed on the territory of Kyrgyzstan TV tower repeater on August 22 at the site of frontier “Kerben” of Ala-Bukinsky border detachment on a disputed area of Ungar-Too. The landing was carried out from MI-8 helicopters. The Uzbek side demanded to give them the officer of Uzbekistan’s Interior Ministry earlier detained on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The border representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan has also sounded a demand to remove Kyrgyz police stations around Ortho-Tokoy reservoir.
