Almaty. November 17. Silkroadnews - Kyrgyzstan did not withdraw its peacekeepers from Liberia due to the epidemic Ebola, transmits KyrTAG referring to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
"Returning of the Officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic form Liberia in August 2014 was associated with the completion of his service in UNMIL. Kyrgyzstan did not withdraw its peacekeepers from Liberia because of the Ebola virus. In this regard, the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic refute certain information of media that said that the officer was withdrawn because of the spread of the Ebola virus in Liberia",- said in a statement of the Foreign Ministry.
In addition, the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan emphasizes that permanently liaise with relevant UN agencies to obtain information on the status of peacekeepers from Kyrgyzstan, serving in UN missions in Africa.
