Almaty. May 25. Silkroadnews – Minister-counselor of the Kazakhstani Embassy to Kyrgyzstan Erbol Akhmetov was called to the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic on May 24, KyrTAG reports.

“During the meeting the Kazakhstani side received a note of protest in connection with the statements by the minister of culture and sports of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Muhamediuly published by mass media of the Republic of Kazakhstan on May 24, 2016,” the press service of Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed on Tuesday.

“It is noted that the offensive and not been thought through the tone of the statements by A. Muhamediuly regarding the Kyrgyz Republic, which evoked a wide negative response by the Kyrgyzstan community, as a whole does not comply with the spirit of friendly Kyrgyz-Kazakhstani relations,” the information states.

Ministry of foreign affairs also drew attention of the Kazakhstani side “to the trend statements in respect of Kyrgyzstan becoming more frequent, including those broadcasted by the Kazakhstani public channels.”

As reported, on Monday the Minister of culture and sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Muhamediuly said “it is so sad, when you arrive in Moscow or other cities, to see the young girls, our neighbors, cleaning the public toilets”.

“It is so amazing when you once again read books by Chingiz Aitmatov, it feels absolutely different. Especially his novel “The White Ship”. When you read it in your young days you, indeed, are rather looking for the love scenes, heroic deeds. But when you once again re-read it now, of course, it makes your skin crawls. C. Aitmatov is not only a great writer, but also a prophet, he predicted where his country, his nation goes to. Really, back in 40-50s he could feel and describe the negative events that, unfortunately, took place in Kyrgyzstan. That is, he wanted to warn his people not to do such crazy steps,” A. Muhamediuly said.

Quotes by the Kazakhstani minister evoked numerous negative responses from Kyrgyzstan citizens in social networks. In particular, he was advised to “regret his own country-men” and reminded that any work cannot be shameful is it is honest.
