Bishkek. September 2. Silkroadnews - Kyrgyzstan in September projected increase in gasoline prices in the range of 5%, reported KyrTAG with reference to the President of the Association of Oil Traders Medetbek Kerimkulov.
"Forecasted increase in gasoline prices up to 5% and decrease in prices for diesel fuel to 2%. According to experts, this is a temporary phenomenon. In October-November price will decline because of falling demand and commissioning of the refinery, which is under renovation",- said M. Kerimkulov at a press conference on Tuesday.
According to him, wholesale prices for gasoline rose by 12.5%, while diesel fell slightly.
"The main driver of growth: Omsk and Salavat refineries, from where we basically get fuel, will be on repair in September. According to experts, the volume of oil refining will be reduced by 2.6 million tons, or 14%. As a result, we will have shortage up to 500 thousand tons of high-octane gasoline"- he explained.
Another reason is the appreciation of the dollar.Compared with the beginning of the year the American currency grew by 8% relative to the som and 13% relative to the ruble.
According to M. Kerimkulov for 8 months Kyrgyzstan imported 696 thousand tons of fuel and lubricants, among which 382 thousand tons of gasoline, the rest - diesel. Trade balance at the end of August is 80.4 thousand tons of fuel.
