Almaty. February 21. Silkroadnews – Kyrgyzstan reduces coal production due to a dramatic drop in coal exports to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz media report.

“In 2016 coal production in Kyrgyzstan decreased by 136 thousand tonnes compared to the previous year. One of the major reasons behind is a lack of coal sales market – a sharp reduction in exports to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan”, Kyrgyz media reported with reference to data by the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic.

It is noted that Tajikistan’s economy almost completely ensures Tajikistan's demand for coal from its own coal production.
