Kyrgyzstan intends to resume the import of electricity

Almaty. March 4. Silkroadnews - Kyrgyzstan plans to resume imports of electricity, said KyrTAG.
"Perhaps from the April 2015 we will start importing electricity from Tajikistan to keep the water at Toktogul. Terms constitute from April to September. In 2014, we imported 211 million kWh from Tajikistan, I think this year we will import 300 million kWh",- said Deputy General Director of JSC "NESK" Alexei Borodin, at a press conference on Wednesday.
He noted that this forecast is made based on the capabilities of the Tajik energy system.
According to Borodin, HPP in Bishkek preserved winter production of electricity in order to save resources of Toktogul reservoir.
"If there will be a low inflow of water, we will work out other options for electricity. For example, imports from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan", - said the deputy head of "NESK".
Recall, in 2014 Kyrgyzstan imported Tajik electricity to save water in the Toktogul reservoir. Since the end of 2014, the country imports electricity from Kazakhstan.
