Almaty. February 29. Silkroadnews - State Tax Department (STD) of Kyrgyzstan intends to tighten control over the import of goods from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), KyrTAG reports.
“Since March 10, 2016, the decision will come into force regarding the goods subject to 30 days preliminary notification, indicating the price and volume of imports from the EEU. Without the documents accompanying the products shall not be allowed for delivery to Kyrgyzstan. However, the list and the number of (imported - Silkroadnews) subjects (...) drew a criticism in the society,” – the statement said on Monday.
As explained, with the entry of Kyrgyzstan in the EEU the customs control on the border with Kazakhstan has been removed and immediately an inflow of goods with “underestimated price specified” moved to the Kyrgyz Republic, which led to a reduction in tax payments and loss of the responsible importers.
As the deputy chairperson of the STD October Abdykaimov noted at the briefing, “a lot of questions rise” on the list of imported goods.
“I do not think you have problems when bring with you 6-7 liters of milk instead of 5 liters. It is possible we will make a proposal to change the list, with an increase in the threshold without preliminary notification,” - O. Abdykaimov said.
He added it is planned to prepare these changes promptly and submit them to the government. With that as of March 10, 2016, twenty-four hours attendance of the STD employees will be introduced at four main crossing points on the border with Kazakhstan.
