Almaty. February 20. Silkroadnews - Kyrgyzstan is developing eight gold deposits, reports KyrTAG citing Economy Minister Temir Sariev.
According to him, antimony and mercury plant do not operate at full capacity, also in the country decreased the production of coal from 3.1 million in 1990. In 2007 production decreased to its maximum - 400 thousand tons, while the annual needs of the country is 2 million tons.
"Last year the mining industry in the form of taxes made 7 billion 11 million soms, or $147 million to the budget, an increase of 17%. If we start developing all other deposits, project revenues would have grown to $300 million. However, this can only be done in good investment climate. Last year, investment into the industry decreased to 90%", - concluded the Minister.
