Kyrgyzstan plans to introduce a system of electronic patient records

Almaty. January 27. Silkroadnews  - Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev met with the Minister of Health Talantbek Batyraliyev, the press service of the head of state informs.
During the meeting the head of state was informed about the ongoing reforms within the health system and the measures taken to improve the quality of medical services in the country, including the plans to introduce a system of electronic medical records of citizens.
The President stressed that the reform of the health care system must be carefully thought out and provide a real improvement of the quality of medical services rendered to citizens, and also paid attention to importance of rooting out the corruption in the health system.
As previously reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health, currently the ministry is working on the improvement and integration of health information systems to create system of personified registration of medical services and introduction of modern technologies of e-health within the framework of the approved program of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic for the implementation of e-Governance (e-government).
The development of e-health should contribute to ensuring the availability of producing all kinds of medical care residents and allow the introduction of electronic services for patients, through which you can sign up to the doctor, see your medical history, place orders for medicines in pharmacies, etc.
In this regard, the Ministry is implementing a number of pilot projects aimed at the introduction of electronic patient records: the introduction of outpatient medical records; implementation of an electronic history of the newly born babies; implementation of information systems based on the software with open source; the introduction of telemedicine technologies and distance education.
