Kyrgyzstan refused from paying benefits to veterans of the Afghan war
Almaty. November 25. Silkroadnews - On the eve at the meeting of Jogorku Kenesh for International Affairs, Defense and Security, deputies decided to waive payment of the annual allowance for combatants in Afghanistan, reports KyrTAG.
Thus, the Kyrgyz parliament actually rejected amendments to the law "On Veterans of the war, the armed forces and workers of the war".
As explained by the chairman of the committee Almazbek Baatyrbekov if increase the payments, it is necessary to raise the benefits to all recipients, otherwise there is social injustice. In addition, officials stressed that the amendment of the additional payments would entail additional budget expenditures in the amount of 34 million soms annually.
"In the period of global financial crisis and the republican budget deficit it is inappropriate to adopt this bill", - said a member of the Cabinet.
