Kyrgyzstan’s energy losses amounted to 15% in 2015

Almaty. April 22. Silkroadnews – In 2015 Kyrgyzstan’s energy losses amounted to 15% or 2 billion kW/h, the head of the National Energy Holding Aibek Kaliev informs, KyrTAG reports.

“Last year the energy companies had produced 12.9 billion kW/h, while consumption for the same period grew up to 10.9 billion kW/h. Electricity losses amounted to 15% or 1.5 billion som,” he said at the meeting of “Republic – Ata-Jurt” party on Friday.

At the same time, he added, 85% of users do not cross the threshold of 700 kilowatts/hour.
Total revenue collected for electricity amounted to 11.77 billion som, in 2014 this index stood at 9.8 billion som. The deficit in the energy sector in the past year amounted to 9 billion som.
