Kyrgyzstan’s GDP fell by 4% in January-May

Almaty. June 10. Silkroadnews – In January-May Kyrgyzstan’s GDP declined by 4% compared to the same period of last year and amounted to 139 billion som, the head of the Consolidated Operations and Statistical Information Distribution Department of the National Statistical Committee Chinara Turdubaeva told, KyrTAG reports.

According to C. Turdubaeva, gross domestic product in January-May of this year, according to the preliminary estimates, amounted to more than 139 billion som and decreased by 4% compared with January-May of last year, with this reduction impacted by a decrease in volumes in industry and transport.

“Excluding enterprises developing the “Kumtor” field, the gross domestic product amounted to 130 billion som in January-May 2016 having increased by 0.5% as compared to the similar period of last year”, C.Turdubaeva noted.
