Kyrgyzstan started electrical supplies to Kazakhstan within the framework of intergovernmental agreement

Almaty. August 9. Silkroadnews – Kyrgyzstan began to supply electricity to Kazakhstan under a contract of barter, KyrTAG writes.

“According to the agreements reached with the Kazakhstani side on electricity interchange within the framework of Kyrgyz-Kazakhstani intergovernmental agreement, as from 05:00 a.m. on August 4, 2016, the electricity is supplied to the Republic of Kazakhstan in the amount of 200 million kW/h under the contracts of barter on conditional price”, press-release by the National energy holding company states.

The electricity supply from Kyrgyzstan’s energy system will be carried out during August 4-25, 2016, and returned during the period from September 15 to November 10 of this year.

In this regime the Uch-Kurgkanskaya HPP will release 350 m3/sec water for agricultural needs of Kazakhstan.
For eight days of August Kyrgyzstan’s electricity output amounted to 41.0 million kW/h with daily output of 8.0 million kW/h.

On August 3, 2016, according to the agreement signed between JSC “NES Kyrgyzstan” and JSC “KEGOC”, the interstate power lines between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan were switched, thus, creating the conditions to provide for the due operation of “NES Kyrgyzstan”.
