Kyrgyzstan to carry out decontamination of vehicles imported from Japan with high radiation background
Almaty. November 24. Silkroadnews – Kyrgyzstan’s prime minister Sooronbai Jeenbekov signed a decree of the government of the Kyrgyz Republic saying the transport vehicles with high radiation background imported in Kyrgyzstan from Japan must undergo decontamination, KyrTAG writes.
According to the document, the State Customs Service under the Kyrgyz government is entrusted to develop an appropriate plan, specify the number of vehicles with high radiation background and together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic organize their transportation from “Alamedin” station to the point of radioactive waste disposal of the special plant of state enterprise “Kyrgyzzhilkommunsoyuz” to carry out decontamination as provided by the requirements of the legislation of Kyrgyzstan.
To perform these tasks the state agency of environment and forestry under the government of the Kyrgyz Republic are entrusted to allocate the due funds based on calculations prepared by the government agencies.
Ministry of health, ministry of emergency situations, state agency of environment and forestry and the state inspection on environmental and technical safety, together with the customs and border authorities have also been entrusted to ensure radiation control on quality of vehicles decontamination.
