Kyrgyzstan will be in shortage of 6 billion kWh of electricity in 2017

Bishkek. July 25. Silkroadnews - Kyrgyzstan in 2017 will experience power deficit for 6 billion kWh, transmits KyrTAG.
"We used to be an exporter of electricity, but by 2017 we will experience a shortage of electricity for 6 billion kWh. Therefore it is necessary to accelerate the work in this direction, - said Minister of Economy Sariev at a government meeting on Friday.
According to him, goverment shall hurry in running for the second HPP Kambarata-2 and finish construction of HPP Kambarata-1 as well as HPP Upper Naryn.
"In 2017 according to the National Sustainable Development Strategy it is also envisaged to reduce electricity losses to 12%, the current record is 16.9%", - said the Minister.
As recalled by the agency, water volume in Toktogul reservoir is 11.5 billion cubic meters, which is 3 billion cubic meters less than last year.
