Last Kyrgyzstan Full Cavalier of Order of Glory, Mstislav Ivanov, dies in Bishkek
Bishkek. April 25. Silkroadnews – The last Kyrgyzstan’s Full Cavalier of the Order of Glory, the Great Patriotic War veteran, Mstislav Ivanov, died in Bishkek at the age of 90, as his family reports.
“Mstislav Ivanov was conscripted to the Red Army in 1942 at the age of 18. He has been awarded multiple orders. He was a Full Cavalier of the Order of Glory. That is the highest recognition of soldier’s valour. His last Order was awarded on the 15th of May 1945. It was a First Class Order of Glory for taking 69 Hitler’s military men into captivity. He was considered to be one of the bravest emissaries of the Great Patriotic war.”
He has become a geologist after the war. He was residing and working in Kyrgyzstan for over 60 years.
