Last Russian prisoner to be released from Guantanamo
Almaty. July 27. Silkroadnews- The authorities of the US have agreed to release Russian prisoner Ravil Mingazov, 48, from the Guantanamo prison on Cuba, reports the Russian service BBC.
"The ethnic Tatar Mingazov was captured in Pakistan in 2002. According to the US task forces, he was detained in a secret flat of extremists, he had been training in a terror camp. Mingazov denied his implication to the activity of extremist and terror organizations," the publication reports.
According to the message although the US authorities did not officially accuse Mingazov, he has spend 14 years in Guantanamo.
The BBC reminded Mingazov is the last citizen of Russia staying in Guantanamo. Other seven citizens of Russia called in mass media as "Russian talibs" were extradited to Russia in 2004.
