Leakage of nuclear materials in Kazakhstan is not possible, assure the Ministry of Energy

Astana. September 18. Silkroadnews - Vice-Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhytzhan Dzhaksaliyev believes that the leakage of nuclear materials in Kazakhstan is not possible, informs KazTAG.
"All matters relating to the control of nuclear materials, weapons of mass destruction, nuclear fuel conversion, everything is on tight control. No leaks can be! Absolutely impossible",- said B. Dzhaksaliyev, responding to a question on the security of nuclear materials at a briefing on Thursday.
As previously reported, a container with cesium-137 disappearedon Aug. 27, 2014. It fell out of the car "KAMAZ", followed from Uralsk Mangistau region of Kazakhstan, in the interval of the road from the village of Sai Rock to Shetpe. According to this was opened a criminal case under article 249 part 1 of the Criminal Code.
In search of a container of radioactive material have been involved all the emergency services field, including the Department of Emergency Management, the police, the National Security Committee. Later, the missing container was found in the Kyzylorda region on September 6th.
Cesium-137 is a radioactive substance used in industry and medicine. However, it can also be used in the production of so-called "dirty bomb", which cause of high radioactive contamination.
