LukOil to start exploration and development in Southern Uzbekistan by 2016

Tashkent. May 14. Silkroadnews – Russian LukOil is to set everything up and ready for development of condensed gas field in Southwest Gissar, in the country’s southern region of Kashkadarya, as the company informs.
“The main facilities are to be launched by 2016. Over USD 1 bln is to be invested in the project. The maximum extraction capacity is 4.8 bln cubic metres per annum”, “LukOil Uzbekistan Operating Company” clarifies via message distributed this Tuesday at “Oil Gas Uzbekistan- 2014” exposition that opened in Tashkent.
The project has started in the spring of 2013, as the company informs. LukOil is currently working on Southwest Gissar field in Uzbekistan and participates in geological exploration of Uzbek part of Aral Sea.
LukOil is set to extract 18 cubic metres of gas in 2018 within the framework of the first two projects. USD 8 bln is to be invested in the project from start to finish, as opposed to USD 3.2 bln that have already been invested.
