Mining of metal ore increased 4.8 times in Kyrgyzstan

Almaty. April 8. Silkroadnews – Last year Kyrgyzstan increased the metal ore mining by 4.8 times, KyrTAG reports.
In the subsoil use field (share in total industrial production makes 4.6%), on results of 2015 the production volume was formed in the amount of 7.99 billion som, having increased by 1.6 times in comparison with 2014. The increase in industrial production has been provided due to the growth of metal ores mining by 4.8 times, coal and brown coal (lignite) - by 1.3%, crude oil and natural gas - by 28.8%, as well as extraction of other minerals - by 16.0%.

The 4.8 times growth of metal ore mining volumes has been generated with the launch of ore complex “Kazakhmys Gold Kyrgyzstan” LLC at the gold-copper deposit Bozymchak (on August 1, 2015) and the mining complex “Ken Altyn” LLC at the gold deposit Taldy-Bulak Left Bank (on July 29, 2015).

1,882.65 thousand tons of coal was produced in 2015, meaning the volume increased by 2.9% versus 2014. In the northern region the production totaled 698.2 thousand tons, in the southern region - 1184.4 thousand tons.
In 2015 volume production in the oil and gas industry made 2299.1 million som with the 1.3 times growth rate, as a whole 107.1 thousand tons of oil (growth rate of 132.5%) and 31.6 million cubic meters of natural gas (growth rate of 93.5%) were produced.
