Ministries of internal affairs of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have agreed to cooperate in combating terrorism

Almaty. April 18. Silkroadnews – Ministries of internal affairs of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan signed a number of new agreements on cooperation in combating the organized crime, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports.

“A number of new agreements on cooperation in combating transnational crime, terrorism, extremism, drug smuggling was signed during the first session of the joint board of the heads of the ministries of internal affairs of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in the Sughd province,” the ministry of internal affairs of Tajikistan informed.

During the session the parties have also signed an agreement on organizing and conducting sporting activities among the police officers of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as an agreement on rendering assistance in apprehension of the criminals on the wanted list.

The sides also discussed the issues of collective struggle with such threats of the modern world, as terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking. They considered the ways to strengthen further cooperation between the security agencies of the two countries and the exchange of experiences in the field of the police reform.

The next meeting of the joint board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will be held in 2017 in Kyrgyzstan.
