Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan and the World Bank discussed the issues of cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction
Almaty. February 10. Silkroadnews - Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov and executive director of the World Bank, Mr. Joerg Frieden discussed further bilateral cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction, transfers KyrTAG with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
During the meeting, K. Boronov described the activities aimed at reducing disaster risks, including projects implemented with the support of the World Bank in the area of improving the system of Hydrometeorology, improve the efficiency of the Center for Crisis Management, establishment of an early warning to the population, improve the methodology for assessing the damage caused by natural disasters.
The Minister noted a significant contribution of the World Bank in the field of disaster risk reduction and thanked J.Frieden for support and assistance initiatives to Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan.
In turn J.Frieden expressed readiness on the review of the issues discussed during the meeting.
