Beijing. January 15. Silkroadnews - More than 10 large and medium rare-earth deposits have been found in eastern China, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) reports with reference to Xinhua.
“More than 10 large and medium rare-earth deposits have been found in the south of Jiangxi Province, the statement was made based on the expert examination of the project the local geologists carried out in the last 4 years,” the report said on Monday.
The region has been evaluated for the rare earth metals resources since early 2014, covering 18 counties where exploration of deposits was not carried out earlier.
The evaluation was carried out on 123 waste mines to check the remaining reserves. More than ten new deposits found became a major breakthrough for the geologists. The heavy rare-earth elements found in rocks of Caledonian age in the territory of Shangyu County are of special interest.
According to the geologists, the successful completion of the project, providing more complete information on rare earth resources in the south of Jiangxi Province, known in China as the “kingdom” of this group of elements, not only builds a reliable resource base for Jiangxi’s relevant industries development, but also ensures data to develop plans for China’s rare earth resources use as a whole.
