More than 470 projects require foreign investments in Tajikistan

Almaty. July 11. Silkroadnews – More than 470 projects require foreign investments in Tajikistan, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports.

“There are more than 470 projects in Tajikistan that are in need of foreign investments,” Chairman of Chamber of commerce and industry (CCI) of Tajikistan Sharif Said said at the meeting with the governor of Gansu Province Lin Duo.

As the CCI press service informs, the meeting was held within the framework of the 22nd China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair opened in the city of Lanzhou on July 8.

According to S. Said, Tajikistan is interested to get Gansu Province’s private capital involved in the priority sectors of the Tajik economy: hydropower, mining, industrial, infrastructure, agriculture, transportation, road construction, telecommunications, construction, trade, banking and financial sectors.

The CCI head also noted a high potential Tajikistan has for creation of joint ventures with participation of Chinese technology and equipment.

Particular attention was paid to the Chinese business’ participation in the free economic zones (FEZ) of Tajikistan.
The major branches of industry of continental Gansu Province, located in the western part of China, are non-ferrous metallurgy, electric power and petrochemical industry, petroleum engineering.
