More than 90 contracts worth around $900 million were signed at the Kazakhstani-Uzbek business forum in Astana

Almaty. March 24. Silkroadnews – 92 contracts totaling $840 million were signed during the Kazakhstani-Uzbek business forum, KazTAG reports.

The Uzbek side was represented by 150 representatives of the light and food industries, machine building, banks, etc.

Alisher Shaykhov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, said, Uzbek entrepreneurs plan further development of the relationship with Kazakhstan, which would help both states to enter the international markets.

“At present we discuss the issues of joint access to the Chinese, European, American and African markets, as we are going to establish joint ventures and use logistics centers also developing in our country. New opportunities are opened to enter the markets of China, Europe and other regions”, A. Shaykhov noted.

With this he also added, the Uzbek side expects an increase in mutual trade turnover between the countries.

“As a whole the task is to raise our turnover up to $5 billion. As for investments, this is an issue for the entrepreneurs themselves. To this end, I think, our countries have all the possibilities”, he summarized.
