Almaty. June 10. Silkroadnews – More than 90% of goods labelled as “Made in Kyrgyzstan” are being exported to Russia and Kazakhstan, KyrTAG reports.

As Kyrgyzstan’s president Almazbek Atambayev said in his letter, today the textile and clothing industry remains the country’s priority sector with high export potential.

“More than 90% of goods with a label “Made in Kyrgyzstan” are exported to Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries and serve as a guarantee of quality for textile and clothing products. There are thousands of new businesses organized in the country and more than 150 thousand jobs created,” the statement by the head of the state says.
The president noted the steps the government undertakes to boost the activity of entrepreneurs, including in the field of light industry. All the trade and tariff barriers have been removed to promote the goods within the integrated union market and the transport costs to deliver goods to the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union have been reduced almost a half.

This all shall provide to grow the exports of textile and clothing products, enter new sales markets and reduce the imports of counterfeit goods from China, the head of state believes.
