More than a thousand of Tajikistan’s citizens have joined the IS terrorist group, the expert says

Almaty. November 1. Silkroadnews – 1100 Tajik citizens have joined a terrorist organization of “Islamic state” (IS), TajikTA reports.

“Currently around 1100 citizens of Tajikistan have joined the IS militants in Syria and Iraq, among them 210 are natives of Khatlon region and 394 are natives of Sughd region”, director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan Hudoberdy Kholiknazar said.

He has noted, despite the efforts undertaken by the government and explanatory work among the population Tajikistan still observes the growth of extremism.

While recruiting the foreign emissaries pay special attention to get the women involved in the network of extremism as, according to him, the police did not give this issue much importance so far.
