National strategy 2030 to be realized in three stages in Tajikistan

Almaty. December 21. Silkroadnews – The National strategy 2030 of Tajikistan development will be realized in three stages, TajikTA reports.

“The first stage (2016-2020) provides for a transition to a new model of economic development to attract investments and raise production to ensure import substitution and export growth. The second stage (2021-2025) includes the transition of rapid development through investments; the third stage (2026-2030) is aimed at innovative diversification of production”, officials of the country’s ministry of economic development say.

Earlier the implementation of this strategy was said to require about $118.1 billion. Almost half of this amount is planned to be attracted through the investments and private sector involvement.

According to the document authors, the implementation of Tajikistan’s national development strategy will allow solving three priority objectives: to achieve energy independence, escape the transport isolation and ensure food security of the country.

The first two objectives are planned to be achieved before 2025. With the full implementation of the national development strategy, meaning by 2030, the volume of electricity production is planned to raise from current 17 billion kWh up to 45 billion kWh.
