NATO countries reaffirmed their commitment to mission in Afghanistan
Beijing. Jul 13. Silkroadnews - 29 NATO countries have reaffirmed their commitment to the mission in Afghanistan, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
In the statement adopted by the NATO countries, the participants recognized the success of the Resolute Support mission, focused on assisting the Afghan security forces, including advising and police forces training.
The summit participants reaffirmed their readiness to continue financial support to Afghan law enforcement agencies until 2024 and direct their efforts to compensate for the shortage of personnel.
The NATO statement also notes the need for the regional states, first of all Russia, Iran and Pakistan, to contribute to stabilization and peace process in Afghanistan.
