NATO troops will remain in Afghanistan until the end of 2016

Almaty. December 2. Silkroadnews - The North Atlantic Alliance will extend its mission in Afghanistan until the end of 2016, reported Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
Currently, the mission is attended by 12 thousand people, of which about half fom the United States.
Also, the alliance considers the launch of a campaign to raise funds to finance the Afghan army in the period after 2018.
As it is known, at the moment, the Afghan security forces are fully funded by the US government.
In addition, the NATO Secretary General said that NATO no longer needs the land transit through Russian territory for operations in Afghanistan in connection with the reduction of its scope.
