NATO warns of a complete withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan
Almaty. August 12. Silkroadnews - military alliance of NATO warns about the complete withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan, transmits Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
"Soon we will have to make difficult decisions. Because of the absence of a legal basis for the continuation of our presence in Afghanistan, we have to completely leave the country by the end of the year" - quoted the General Secretary of the military alliance, Anders Fogh Rasmussen on Tuesday.
According to NATO Secretary, with high probability, these decisions will be adopted during the NATO summit in Wales, scheduled for September 4-5 this year.
Recall that the new mission of ISAF must be regulated by a security agreement. It was planned to make the document regulating the Afghan-US agreement on cooperation. Each of the documents is still unsigned.
Incumbent President Hamid Karzai refused to sign the agreement. Currently, the presidential candidates are Abdullah Abdullah and Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, but the election results are still unclear. Each of them has already promised after his election to sign a security agreement with the United States.
