Almaty. May 4. Silkroadnews – Nearly 300 houses are reported to have been severely damaged as a result of an earthquake in Kyrgyzstan, over 110 animals of small cattle died, KyrTAG reports.
“The earthquake shock recorded at the border with Tajikistan in the village of Zhekendi in the Chon-Alai district resulted in severe damage of 66 residential buildings, one school, two buildings of rural health posts, other 215 houses are reported to be affected”, the statement by the Ministry of Health of the Republic says.
The earthquake also caused a rockfall in the village of Kara-Myk in the Chon-Alai district that have killed 110 sheep.
At present families reported to have lost their houses in the villages of Shibe, Kara-Teyit, Zhikendi live in yurts, they have been also sent special tents by the emergency situations ministry.
To remind, an earthquake with 6.3 magnitude struck the area at the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of the 3rd May 3. Later another earthquake with 4.6 magnitude was recorded in the territory of Kyrgyzstan, followed by three other earthquakes with 2.5-5.5 magnitude.
