Negotiations on an agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the EAEC and the PRC may begin in 2016
Almaty. October 6. Silkroadnews - Negotiations on an agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) and China may begin in early 2016. This was stated by the chairman of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Viktor Khristenko, reported KazTAG.
"Now working with Chinese partners is based on several trends. First of all, we mean working relationships, in particular the systemic interaction of the Eurasian Economic Commission with the Ministry of Commerce of China in the format of the dialogue on trade issues", - said Viktor Khristenko at the international forum "Eurasian Economic Perspective" in Astana on Tuesday.
"In this same framework is preparation of an agreement on the exchange of information on goods and vehicles of international transport conveyed through the customs border of the Eurasian Union and China. From our point of view, regular exchange of information will enhance the trust between Member States Union and China, will help in the prevention of violations of customs laws of our countries, accelerate customs procedures", - he added.
As recalled Viktor Khristenko, in May of this year, the presidents of the EAEC member states have decided to start negotiations with China on an agreement on trade and economic cooperation.
In addition, according to V. Khristenko, EEC is working on building a format of systematic dialogue with China on issues of technical regulation, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, transport and electricity.
He noted that China has been and remains a key economic partner for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
"At the end of 2014 the turnover of the Eurasian Union with China amounted to about 110 billion dollars. China - the country's largest partner for our countries", - concluded V. Khristenko.
