New prime minister has been elected in Turkey

Almaty. May 23. Silkroadnews – Binali Yildirim, the ally of the current president Tayyip Erdogan, has become the new Prime Minister of Turkey, RBC reports.

Binali Yildirim, Transport Minister, was unanimously elected as the new leader of the ruling party in Turkey and becomes the prime minister. The head of the state has already assigned him to form a new government, the publication says.

Together with the president Tayyip Erdogan the 60-year-old politician was one of the founders of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Turkey, 1405 delegates voted for him at the party congress. B. Yildirim stated the AKP will follow “Erdogan’s path”.

B. Yildirim was the only candidate for the role of the head of the party.

To remind, on May 5, 2016, A. Davutoglu announced his decision to resign from the posts of leader of the ruling party and the prime minister.
