Newly elected president to take office until December 1 in Kyrgyzstan - the CEC

Almaty. October 31. Silkroadnews - The newly elected president of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov will take office within the next 30 days, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurzhan Shayldabekova said this, the Kyrgyz Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG) reported.
Inauguration of the new president should take place not later than December 1, 2017, N. Shayldabekova said.
According to her, to determine the inauguration date the CEC will hold consultations with the country’s parliament, as well as with the current president Almazbek Atambayev.
Today the CEC of Kyrgyzstan has formally announced the results of the presidential election held on October 15. The winner is Sooronbai Jeenbekov, a candidate by the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan, who scored over 54% of the votes, followed by Omurbek Babanov, leader of the parliamentary faction Respublika-Ata-Jurt (Fatherland), with 33.5% of votes. The remaining nine candidates have been left far behind the leaders.
