Opening of direct flights between Kazakhstan and Qatar is planned soon

Astana. June 16. Silkroadnews - Aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and Qatar at a meeting in Doha (Qatar) discussed opening of direct flights between the two countries in the nearest time, reported the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan.
“The legal basis for the implementation of flights from Kazakhstan to Qatar and back is a memorandum of understanding between the aeronautical authorities of the two countries, which was signed on 25 March 1999. According to the document, the parties have the right to carry out regular flights with a frequency of not more than 7 flights a week, but with the matching designated air carriers of both countries. In this case the designated carrier from Qatari side is Qatar Airways, from the Kazakhstan side — AirAstana”, - stated in the information on the website of ITC on Monday.
According to the Transport and Communications Ministry, during the meeting Kazakhstan proposed to revise the air service agreement between two countries.
To open air transport aviation, authorities from two sides called the designated air carriers of both countries to hold bilateral talks in the nearest future and come to an agreement on the conditions of the flight.
