OSCE is preparing border guards for a duty at the Turkmen-Afghan border

Kabul. August 27. Silkroadnews - Training on patrolling the borders opened to the Turkmen border guards at the checkpoint Imamnazar on the Afghan border, reports Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
As noted in the publication, the course is part of the extra-budgetary project of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to improve the training of Border Service of Turkmenistan.
"The OSCE promotes the State Border Service of Turkmenistan to improve its capacity in the protection of the state border in accordance with international standards, as well as in the development of cross-border cooperation with neighboring countries in the field of border security", - said the head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat, Ambassador Ivo Petrov.
At the current, invited international experts to demonstrate instructors and commanders groups of Turkmen border guards patrolling and innovative methods of observation.
The Border Police of Afghanistan is also planned to be involved, and will join the training in September.
