Over last 7 months China raised its imports of LNG and LPG by 28.4% to 22.3 million tonnes

Almaty. August 31. Silkroadnews – The volume of liquefied natural and petroleum gas (LNG and LPG) imported by China in January-July grew 28.4% up to 22.29 million tonnes, Chinese media reported.

The customs statistics show in value terms there is a 9.5% decline observed down to $7.95 billion. Australia ranks the first in terms of LNG and LPG volume exported to China. According to the results of January-July, it delivered 6.11 million tonnes (+83.2%). The exports revenue grew 76.3%, up to $1.85 billion; average cost per tonne decreased by $12 to $302.61, which is the minimum price per tonne among other exporting countries.

Qatar exported to China 3.69 million tonnes, which is 29.7% higher compared to January-July of 2015. The exports revenue declined 17.9% to $1.49 billion; average cost per tonne made $405.17 (-$234.91).

Tonnage of LNG and LPG deliveries to China from the United Arab Emirates and United States increased by 22.9% – up to 3.55 and 1.99 million tonnes respectively. Revenue from exports from the UAE amounted to $1.31 billion (-12.9%), from the U.S. – $804.79 million (-17.8%). The average cost of a tonne made $370.29 (UAE) and $402.86 (US).

Russia delivered to China 129.09 thousand of tonnes of LNG and LPG for the period mentioned, which is a 93.7% growth compared to January-July 2015. The exports revenue grew 66.8%, to $43.71 million, with average price of $338.63 (-$54.61) per tonne. Kazakhstan's deliveries volume made 123.51 thousand tonnes (+42.8%) to a total of $43.12 million (+45.6%). The average cost per tonne $349.1.

In January-July 2016 the average cost of a tonne of LNG and LPG for China made $356.66, which is $145 lower compared to the same period of last year.
