Overlap of Namangan channel can cause a water war with Uzbekistan, says Kyrgyz political analyst

Bishkek. June 16. Silkroadnews - Overlap of Namangan water channel can cause water wars with neighboring Uzbekistan. This opinion was expressed to KirTAG by political analyst Mars Sariev.
"Undoubtedly, the objects of the energy sector of Kyrgyzstan needs repairing. But this is the wrong time. We must take into account the interests of Uzbekistan. Namangan channel is watering thewhole cotton plantation fields. If will block the water, we can expect a war from our neighbors,"- said M.Sariev.
According to him, to cut the water to Uzbekistan means to take their life.
Recall, last week, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Abdyrhman Mamataliev told reporters that the Kyrgyz government is considering a temporary closure of Namangan channel, main water supplier to Uzbekistan, due to the need of repair of the channel.
