Pakistan and Iran agreed to increase bilateral trade to $5 billion

Almaty. August 7. Silkroadnews – Pakistan and Iran have agreed to increase bilateral trade to $5 billion, the Pakistani newspaper “The news” reported.
“Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani and the Iranian leadership have called for greater interaction between the parliamentarians of Iran and Pakistan and agreed to enhance the bilateral trade and achieve the target of US$5 billion”, the publication said on Monday.
It is noted that earlier M. R. Rabbani had met with a number of Iranian officials, including Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, Chief Justice of Iran Sadegh Larijani, Secretary General of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly Mohammad Reza Majidi and others. The meetings’ agenda included discussion of the “issues mutual interest and the current situation in the region”.
According to the publication, M. R. Rabbani thanked the Iranian leaders for their principled position on the long-standing conflict in Kashmir. He stressed that Palestine and Kashmir are the two oldest issues on the UN agenda that should be resolved meeting the wishes of the people.
