Pamir Kyrgyz ready to flee to Pakistan and Turkey, if not repatriated to Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek. March 19. Silkroadnews – Ethnic Kyrgyz from Pamir Mountains filed a request to be repatriated to Kyrgyzstan. Their request was delivered to Kyrgyzstan government by their representative delegate Abdimitalip Syradjin uulu, whio met the deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Tokon Mamytov, this Tuesday.

“There are around 2 000 ethnic Kyrgyz living in Pamir Mountains right now. These are around 250 families. We lead our lives in complete isolation. We don’t have access to healthcare facilities and our children don’t attend schools. We are asking the government to help us with our repatriation, help us relocate and provide with accommodation on the territory of Kyrgyzstan”, Mister Syradjin uulu said to deliver the joint request.

As means of last resort, ethic Kyrgyz are asking to help create acceptable living conditions for them in Pamir Mountains. That is, to provide them with accommodation, teachers and doctors as well as to aask Afghanistani authorities to produce ID documents for them.

Mister Syradjin uulu also stated that if Kyrgyzstan government can’t accommodate their request, they are to make similar requests to the governments of Pakistan and Turkey.

Tokon Mamytov confirmed that the government of Kyrgyzstan is to consider all of the raised issues.
